Carnatic Music: A Journey Through Melody and Emotion

Image
Carnatic music, a classical music tradition from South India, is a captivating art form with a rich history stretching back millennia. Imagine the ancient Vedic chants, the sacred hymns—these formed the seeds of what blossomed into the vibrant Carnatic music we know today. It's a tradition passed down through generations, often starting with rigorous training under a guru from a young age, a deeply personal and immersive experience. But Carnatic music isn't just about ancient roots; it's a living, breathing art form. Think of it as a musical tapestry woven from several key elements: Ragas: These are melodic frameworks, each with a unique character and emotional palette. It's like having a musical mood ring, where each raga evokes a different feeling, from joyous exuberance to serene tranquillity. Swaras: These are the notes, similar to the Western musical scale, but with subtle nuances and embellishments that give Carnatic music its distinctive flavour. Gamaka...

veena

In silent halls where wisdom reigns, Veena's strings sing ancient strains. Saraswati's muse, divine and pure, In melodies, her grace does endure. Upon her frame, the fingers dance, Unveiling tales of love and chance. Each note a prayer, each chord a rhyme, Echoing through the corridors of time. With gentle touch, the veena sighs, Bridging earth and heavenly skies. In every pluck, a soul's embrace, A glimpse of eternity, a sacred space. Oh, veena, instrument of grace, In your embrace, we find our place. Saraswati's gift, a timeless art, Guiding spirits, touching every heart. Through dusk and dawn, your music flows, In ripples soft, a river that knows, The secrets whispered in the breeze, The dreams that linger 'neath the trees. So let us listen, let us be still, As veena's song our spirits fill. For in her strings, we find our truth, A symphony of love, eternal youth

ME AND MY SELF

Image
ME AND MY SELF   Veena yantra ,              she is not just a wooden instrument that creates beautiful  Melodee  that hits your ears and makes you feel pleasant.  it brings out a feeling to me where I experience myself as a Yantra, when I  have her in my hands, I see myself bringing out my emotions in the form of music. probably she shares half of me, and I imbibe within her just like the aroma of a Jasmin, and the sweetness of jaggery which is undetachable.         when I am playing on my Yantra that's when I speak to my inner self and enjoy that persistence of self, I believe her strings are related to my NeuroSystems and the Rethem is my heartbeat. it's not just an instrument in fact it's me myself.
